It is with deep sorrow that the family of Ron Beattie announces his peaceful passing on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at 84 years of age.

Ron was born on July 9, 1932 in Kimberley, BC. He left Kimberley to join the Navy and met the love of his life Marjorie while in Newfoundland. They lived in Kimberley for most of the 63 years they were married. Ron enjoyed fishing, camping, curling, skiing, cards and time with his family.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Marjorie, his sister Joyce Hibbard, sons Currie (Wendy), Kevin (Kathy) and Michael (Boby) and numerous grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Tick, sisters Dot and Myra, son Shawn and his daughter-in-law Kim.

A celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at the Kimberley United Church on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11:00 am. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in his honour may do so to the: East Kootenay S.P.C.A., PO Box 2, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 4H6 or their charity of choice.
