Astrophotography talk March 7 at DTSS

By Arnor Larson

I suppose there is a point in nearly everyone’s life when they finally do it. Having been an amateur astrophotographer (using film) since I was a high school senior back in the 1960s, it wasn’t until this February that I photographed a lovely celestial scene using an ‘el cheapo’ digital camera (see above).

Would you like to see and hear more about how you can do it yourself? Then the place to be is the David Thompson Secondary School Theatre in Invermere Friday evening March 7 at 7 p.m.

Amateur astrophotographers Bob Ede and Arnor Larson will show you many digital and film images, the camera setups that took them and answer your questions.

Above photo of the Moon and Venus by Arnor Larson: Manual Exposure at 32mm f/4.5 ISO-80 4 seconds – taken on Wednesday, February 26 at 6:33 a.m. in Wilmer; Temperature -22ºC.
