Canal Days ready to rock the Flats

The Village of Canal Flats is going to be a beehive of activity June 3 to 6 during the 55th annual Canal Days.

CDaysleadThe fun begins Wednesday evening, June 3, with a Talent Show at the Canal Flats Civic Centre.

On Thursday evening, June 4, there will be a $500 bonanza bingo and Friday, June 5 is marked as Kids Day, featuring a family dance at 7 p.m.

The 55th anniversary is the theme for the annual parade, which gets rolling at 11 a.m. following the 8 to 10 a.m. pancake breakfast sponsored by Canal Flats Seniors.

A parade highlight this year will be City of Cranbrook Mayor Lee Pratt who will be marching in a Canal Flats Canadiens jersey, the price of a lost bet with Mayor Ute Juras last winter during the Zamboni Races, won by Canal Flats’ Mathieu Fornier.
