Centre 64 invites you to ART Movies

Interested in learning more about ideas, influences and trends in the visual arts? Relax in the casual atmosphere of Studio64 to watch a movie and share the guided discussion afterwards.

Centre 64 winterCentre 64 begins its Friday ART Movie program on January 22, at 7:30 p.m., with the visually stunning environmental art film, ‘Andy Goldsworthy: Rivers and Tides.’

This 90-minute award-winning film explores the famed artist’s ever-inventive works made outdoors with found natural materials like leaves, branches, flowers, rocks and ice. Goldsworthy speaks of “collaborating with nature” with his site-specific land art. He also accepts his work’s fleeting and ephemeral quality, which he captures at the hight of beauty with his brilliant photography. This film should be of interest to environmentalists, lovers of nature and art enthusiasts.

The remaining Friday ART Movie nights (7:30 p.m. start) are: February 19: ‘Georgia O’Keefe’ (from the Great Women Artists Series); March 18: ‘Eames: the Architect and the Painter’ and April 22: ‘Picasso and Braque Go to the Movies.’

Admission is by donation. Light snacks provided. No host bar.
