Country-roots concert August 13 with Stephen Palmer

Performer StephenĀ Palmer will be making his third appearance at Cranbrook United Church on Wednesay, August 13.

steve palmerPalmerā€™s easy going singing and playing style has been compared to ā€˜a shady tree on a hot summerā€™s dayā€™ (Scott Cook). His country-roots concerts include a generous helping of Gospel, Folk, and Old Time Country, and Steveā€™s own unique ā€˜Originals.ā€™

In addition to Steveā€™s instrumental guitar work, audiences are invited to sing-along, joining in on favourites from familiar artists like the Carter Family, Gordon Lightfoot, and Ian Tyson.

Now based in Saskatchewan, Palmer has been picking and singing in Western Canada since the 1960s.

In his early band work he shared the stage with an amazing variety of performers. From R&B singers like Tina Turner and The Miracles to British Rock superstars Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, and The Who. Now an established acoustic-roots entertainer, he has four albums of ā€˜original and traditionalā€™ music recorded with ā€˜Prairie Airsā€™ (2014) being his most recent.

Showtime on August 13 is 7:30 p.m.

Steveā€™s music can be sampled at www.spmusic.ca
