Griz Days 2016 this weekend
Fernie’s biggest celebration of the year is this weekend, March 4-6.
Griz Days, Fernie’s annual winter carnival is a three-day/evening festival of fun-filled family-friendly events, activities and entertainment.
Highlights include
– Downtown celebrations including 2nd Avenue Parade and Fireworks
– Extreme Griz Competition – great for participants and spectators alike!
– Rocky Mountain Lumberjack Show
– Rail Jam
The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Fernie welcomes the world.’
Make sure to pick up your Griz Pin at locations around town for $3 or two for $5. Every pin is worth one entry into the contest to win $1,000. See facebook page for details. Don’t be seen without your pin or you might be thrown in the Griz Jail along with Fernie’s Most Wanted!
Mr. Griz recently helped launch this year’s Griz Days, showing up at City of Fernie council to make sure everyone had his/her Griz pins. Mayor Mary Giuliano shelled out for four lucky pins (pictured above).
