Rotary adds another film to program
Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club recognized that sometimes January can be a bit of a long and boring month so we decided to change that!
In addition to our movie Whiplash, screening January 8, and sponsored by CIAO Tours, we decided to offer a second film on January 22 titled Love is Strange sponsored by snapd East Kootenay.
This movie, starring John Lithgow and Alfred Molina is a graceful tribute to commitment in the face of adversity. View the trailer.
The next bit of exciting news is a sponsor has been secured for our February 5, screening of Sunshine on Leith. Thank you to BDO Dunwoody for their support in bringing this fabulous film to town.
Sunshine on Leith is a jubilant, heartfelt musical about the power of home, the hearth, family and love. It is the tale of one tight-knit family, and the three couples bound to it, as they experience the joys and heartache that punctuate all relationships. And they do it all while singing to the euphoric music of The Proclaimers. Watch the trailer.
Lastly, just a reminder that there are only three more sleeps until Christmas! Are you short of stocking stuffers? We have some great ideas:
Passes for the Rockies Film Festival – March 5, 6 and 7, 2015;
– Gold passes ($90) for all eight films;
– Silver passes ($45) for four films;
Tickets and passes are available right now at Lotus Books, another great supporter of both our monthly film series and our Rockies Film Festival.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you are able to spend time with family and friends over the holidays watching some great movies!
