Shred Kelly and FBC’s Cheers to Charity

It’s a well-known fact that Fernie is full to the brim with local awesomeness. So much so, Fernie Brewing Co. (FBC) is hosting a fantastic Fernie-factor lunchtime special, Wednesday August 5.

At noon tomorrow, the newly established and thriving Chopstick Truck will be parking outside the brewery, serving up everything from summer rolls to Pho. It’s a guaranteed delicious way to spend your lunch break.

But to further help you recover slowly from your long weekend festivities and make it through to Friday, you’ll be able to wash your lunch down with a paddle of four Fernie Brewing Co. beers for $5 – all of which goes to a local charity or organization, as part of FBC’s Cheers to Charity Program.

At present, FBC’s deserving recipient is none other than Shred Kelly, a band that has rained endless Stoke Folk on Fernie town and beyond. Plus with Fernie’s Wapiti Music Festival coming up this weekend, it seems fitting, that to accompany your Vietnamese lunch and craft beer, you will be serenaded by Shred Kelly, who will be popping by to play a 40 minute acoustic set at 2 p.m. outside the brewery.

Since the start of July, thirsty FBC visitors have sampled their way to over $1,700 for the popular local band, and FBC hopes to see this figure rise over the remaining two weeks.

Fernie Brewing Co. is located two minutes east of Fernie, off Hwy 3.
