Wasa Fun Day Saturday
Wasa is the place to be for some good old fashioned family fun tomorrow, Saturday, May 30.
The annual Wasa Lions Fun Day runs from 8:30 a.m. to dinner time, featuring a $10 spaghetti dinner – all at the Wasa Community Club/Lions picnic area.
Things get rolling at 8:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast, running to 11 a.m. – when the parade gets moving.
Following the parade is a wide range of activities, including Bingo in the hall from 1 to 3 p.m. and a Sand Castle Competition from 1 to 5 p.m.
Also running from 1 to 5 p.m. are kids games, a Bouncy Castle, train rides, bocce, live music, a concession stand and much more.
Additionally, running all day is a garage sale.
The fun continues on Sunday, May 31 with the Lions Foundation of Canada Purina Walk for Dog Guides. Registration is a 2 p.m. and the walk begins (at the Lions Picnic site) at 2:30 p.m. Call 250-427-3550 for more info.
“It can be quite fun to watch the dogs competing,” stated Wasa Lions Club member Jane Walter. “Please come out if you have some time. There is lots of stuff for the kids to do.”
