How cool!

We’re the Coolest Website in the East Kootenay according to the Kootenay Business Magazine Best of Business Awards for 2014, which presented the newspaper with the Platinum Award last week.

The region’s online-only newspaper also received a Gold Award as the Most Eco-Friendly Business in the East Kootenay.

“Ian and I want to thank Kootenay Business Magazine for these honours, as well as those who voted for us, all our loyal readers and many contributors. There are many excellent websites and many environmentally conscious businesses, business owners and managers in the East Kootenay and to be singled out like that is humbling and pretty awesome,” stated East Kootenay News Online Weekly (e-KNOW) publisher and co-owner Carrie Schafer.

“We also must cast a major thank you to the guy who makes our lives so much easier – Chris Botterill, owner of Genex Marketing, which powers e-KNOW. Without Chris’s patient service and genius we’d be a right mess at times,” added e-KNOW editor and co-owner Ian Cobb.

Just a few months past its third birthday, e-KNOW’s readership numbers hit a new high in late August and early September, with 37,534 unique individuals visiting the website, making almost 700,000 page views. The newspaper without paper has almost 13,000 subscribers through our weekly e-mail newsletter, Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In.
