Sparwood’s Loaf celebrating first anniversary

Sparwood’s Loaf Bakery & Café is celebrating its first anniversary on Friday, February 20 with a customer appreciation day.

“We’re delighted with the warm reception we’ve received from the community here in Sparwood and we’d like to thank all our fantastic customers who have supported the Loaf since we opened last year,” says owner Phil Gadd. “Community Futures East Kootenay was very supportive in helping to bring the Loaf to Sparwood and the District of Sparwood extended a warm welcome to our business. They recognize that in this competitive economy, the strength of small businesses is critical in shaping local communities, creating jobs and serving consumers.”

District of Sparwood Mayor Cal McDougall said, “We are delighted to have Loaf celebrating their first anniversary in Sparwood. They are a great addition to our business community and a positive step towards diversifying the economy.   Economic development is central to the vision we have in our community and we look forward to celebrating with the Loaf team on Friday!”

Every customer visiting the Sparwood Loaf on Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. will be entered into a fantastic prize draw, and there will be also be great giveaways, promotions and door prizes on the day.
