Working protocol to be signed by Akisqnuknik Development Corporation and WoodEx Industries

Akisqnuknik Development Corporation and Woodex Industries Ltd. will be signing a working protocol on Thursday, November 24, at the Akisqnuk First Nations administration building.

Akisqnuknik Development Corporation, is a 100% owned business of the Akisqnuk First Nation. It is located in Windermere, on the Akisqnuk First Nation Reserve. Akisqnuknik Development Corporation manages the Little Badger Early Learning Program, Baby Badger Early Learning Program, Aboriginal Head Start on Reserve Program, Chisel Peak Outfitters, Lakeshore Resort and Campground and a Billboards/Signs and Graphic Design division.

WoodEx Industries Ltd. is a local sawmill located in Edgewater, British Columbia that specializes in value-added wood products. WoodEx exports the majority of its’ wood products to Japan.

Akisqnuknik Development Corporation believes there is a need to enter into economic opportunities in the forest industry to continue to bring benefits to the members of Akisqnuk First Nation. ADC believes that this opportunity with WoodEx Industries will be the start of additional opportunities in the forest industry.
