The mission was to create a venue for local farmers and artists to sell their goods and to improve the variety of products available to the community that are locally made, baked, grown or raised in the Fernie area. It was a small and quaint beginning, with some weeks only having three vendors. But, it wouldn’t stay small for long!
Now the market has blossomed to a park packed with vendors each week throughout the summer. From local organic growers selling fresh picked fruit, veggies, herbs and flowers; to herbalists crafting soaps and fragrances; while bakers sell their tasty pies and homemade sourdough bread; and local artisans showcase their latest creations. Check out the Mountain Market events calendar to make sure you don’t miss out on special events like the Fernie Childrens Festival that is hosted at the Market each year.
Sunday’s are now known as market day in the park in Fernie!
A member of the British Columbia Association of Farmers Markets, we actively work to connect growers and connoisseurs of the locally grown, as well as, artisans and aficionados of the hand crafted.
