Sparwood man killed in snowmobile crash
A 54-year-old Sparwood man is dead after a snowmobile collision south of Fernie.
Elk Valley RCMP wasĀ notified by STARS Air Ambulance of the collision just after 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon, April 21.
The incident took place in aĀ remote locationĀ near Barnes Lake in the Flathead Wilderness area, RCMP report.
The collision is reported to have been an accident. Police say both snowmobilers were experienced and were part of a group of seven who had been recreating in the area.
The B.C. Coronerās Service has taken the lead in the investigation.
