10 a.m. information meeting today

Residents from Kimberley’s Morrison Subdivision and the portion of Wallinger Avenue affected by the evacuation alert due to the flooding are being invited to an information meeting this morning at 10 a.m.

“We want to ensure the residents in Morrison Subdivision and Wallinger Avenue with houses numbered

2-98 are receiving information and feel informed,” says Information Officer, Loree Duczek. “This meeting will give us an opportunity to provide them with an update.”   Residents in this area remain on evacuation alert, and are being asked to be prepared with clothing, medication, etc.  in the event conditions change and they are asked to leave their homes with short notice.

The meeting will be held at at the reception centre, which is located at the Kimberley Curling Club.

Water levels went down yesterday but city crews continued with their pumping, monitoring and sandbagging efforts through the night.

Morrison Subdivision and the section of Wallinger Avenue with houses numbered 2 to 98 remain on an evacuation alert and are being asked to be prepared should conditions worsen and an evacuation be required.
