Calgary man killed in early morning crash
On June 17, at 2:12 a.m. Elk Valley RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle incident that occurred on Highway 3 approximately two kilometres west of the tunnel near Elko.
Investigators believe that a pick-up truck driven by a 36-year-old Calgary resident left the road and entered the ditch, causing it to roll.
The driver, who was the only occupant, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Officers were notified later that the individual had succumbed to his injuries from the crash.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation, which remains active and ongoing at this time.
The name of the deceased has not be released pending notification of next of kin.
