Canada changed today: Wilks
Kootenay-Columbia MP David Wilks says our nation changed today.
A former RCMP officer, Wilks is pictured in an image being widely circulated by CTV today following the shooting incident in Ottawa, tweeted by a fellow MP today, near the door to the Parliamentary Caucus. Wilks is the larger, bald man to the back right, nearest the barricaded door.
Following a long and difficult day, Wilks earlier this evening (Oct. 22) stated on Facebook, “I would like to thank every one today who sent words of encouragement and prayers to my colleagues and I. This is a day in which the people’s house was attacked and a member of the Armed Forces was killed. I don’t have much more to say other than this was a cowardly act committed by a person whose beliefs are not Canadian. I pray for all police officers and military personnel who protect us on a daily basis.
“Canada changed today.”
