A parade that’s billed as one of the largest in B.C filled the streets of Penticton August 8 as the Peters Bros. Grande Parade is a highlight of the annual Penticton Peach Festival.

The nearly two hour parade drew over 105 floats and bands from across B.C. and parts of Alberta and Washington.

According to Jim Wavrecan, float chairman and driver, “The Cranbrook float received a warm reception and we were very happy to receive the second place award. Because of the proximity to the USA, there are several outstanding floats that participate from Washington. Our Youth Ambassador team are doing an outstanding job in promoting Cranbrook and Sam Steele Days.”

The City of Cranbrook’s Youth Ambassador 50th anniversary float won the Best Municipal Float in the Calgary Stampede Parade earlier this summer.
