Dr. Keith Lowden to address local support group

The Cranbrook Prostate Cancer Support Group is looking forward to hosting Dr. Keith Lowden at their meeting on April 15.

Dr. Lowden will address the current state of oncology services available to patients in the Cranbrook area.

Dr. Lowden graduated from Mount Baker Secondary School in 1978 and following university and medical training, has spent 28 years in Cranbrook treating our citizens and looking after our Kootenay ICE.

A General Practitioner in Oncology, Dr. Lowden, along with Dr. Shawna Dawe, handle chemotherapy services for all kinds of cancers. For many patients facing advanced cancers, a caring and thorough doctor can ease the way on this cancer journey. Both these caring physicians come highly recommended by their patients.

Dr. Lowden will talk about the facilities at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. He will take the audience through the process of getting referred for chemotherapy. And, as always when Dr. Lowden speaks, he will take any questions from the audience.

The meeting is held on Wednesday, April 15 at the College of the Rockies at 7 p.m. in room 205. Although the Prostate Cancer Support Group is mainly about that specific cancer, Dr. Lowden’s presentation is of interest to a much wider audience.

These meetings are open to everyone and there is no cost to attend.
