Elkford EKC procedures helped during robbery attempt

On Saturday, May 31 at approximately 9 a.m. Elkford’s East Kootenay Community Credit Union (EKC) branch experienced an attempted armed robbery.

EKCCU ElkfordA staff member was opening the branch when a scuffle occurred with the suspect. In the scuffle the employee received a cut to her leg. The suspect also had bear spray, which was not used. The staff member was taken to hospital and later released with a few stitches.
