The Evacuation Alert for the fire in the Spillimacheen area has been lifted. The alert affected approximately 20-30 homes in the Spillimacheen area. The fire is in mop up.

A big thank you to the crews – on the ground and in the air – who have worked on this fire since it broke out July 4. We are so grateful for your efforts,” stated Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) information officer Loree Duczek.

There are currently no fires of note burning in the RDEK.
