Fernie beautification project Out of the Box

On July 6, Fernie held the inaugural Out of the Box Dumpster Bins painting project.

“We had 10 bins, many different artists, and they are looking great,” remarked City of Fernie Mayor Mary Giuliano, who provided e-KNOW with the following series of photographs.

“This was a combined effort by The Arts Station, City of Fernie and members of the Beautification Committee. It is something I wanted to see accomplished for many years but it wasn’t until the right combination of women got together that this was organized,” Giuliano said. “I am grateful to Courtney Baker, Gail Adams, Julie Comette and Vanessa Croome for joining me in this planning. And many thanks to the artists who came forward to be part of this terrific project; Fernie is lucky to have such talented and unique artists.

“A huge thanks to Aidan Lindsay, Laura Nelson, Liam Monaghan, Anna Weston, Pamm Ciupa, Jacqueline Mann, Kate Middleton and crew, Vanessa Croome, Brina Schenk and the Fernie Academy for adding their creativity and colour to the streets of Fernie.”
