Over the past few months the Kimberley RCMP officers have attended the school each week to teach DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).

Throughout the training officers focus on, “Teaching students good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives.”

The DARE Vision; “A world in which students everywhere are empowered to respect others and choose to lead lives free from violence, substance abuse, and other dangerous behaviors.”

Cpl. Chris Newel, detachment commander, stated: “On behalf of the Kimberley RCMP Detachment and the City of Kimberley, congratulations. Your participation in the program will serve you well in the years to come. I’m particularly proud of the dedication of Csts. Rekers and Huffman who took time on their days off, between shifts and calls to instruct the DARE curriculum, thank you.”
