Highway 3 re-opened at Sparwood

Highway 3 is now open.

The highway was closed in both directions at Sparwood yesterday afternoon and evening because of blowing snow and white out conditions through the Crowsnest Pass in Alberta, according to DriveBC.

It is also noting that winter driving conditions are in effect from Yahk to Alberta Border (209.9 km). Environment Canada has forecasted an Artic cold front for the East Kootenay this afternoon/evening. Please watch for icy/slippery sections on the local highways. Plowing/sanding continues around the clock. Travellers are advised to allow additional travel time to reach their destination.
