Highway 3 travel advisory
A Travel Advisory has been established for the 210 km stretch of Highway 3 through the East Kootenay, between Yahk and the Alberta Border.
The combination of a heavy traffic volume, snow flurries and a drop in temperature has prompted the DriveBC advisory.
Only travel on the highway if absolutely necessary; expect slippery sections and icy sections, use caution. Leave adequate room between vehicles, drive to road conditions, and make sure to watch for changing conditions.
There have been eight collisions on that stretch of highway so far today (Dec. 28).
