ICE fans get behind ICU snapd

ICU snapd, a Hockey Night in Cranbrook was a fun night and a boost to East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s (EKFH) Starlite Campaign.  Proceeds from the event are focused toward funding equipment for the new Intensive Care Unit currently under construction at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Snapd East Kootenay was proud to team up with the Kootenay ICE and EKFH for a game night on December 12 with the ICE victorious over the Prince Albert Raiders in overtime.

EKFH volunteers teamed up with a snapd photographer to capture some of the many hockey fans supporting the Starlite Campaign while making a donation for the ICU or bidding on silent auction items.

Many thanks to Matt Fraser and the Boston Bruins, Bridge Interiors, Alpine Toyota, Heritage Inn, Save On Foods, Cranbrook Street Liquor Store, Investors Group and EKFH for providing items for the auction and to the lucky fans taking home some great holiday gifts.

At the end of the evening the generosity of hockey fans contributed over $2,000 toward EKFH’s fundraising effort.

Thank you as well to the two contestants for stepping up to the fun and frolic of the on ice ICU snapd turkey, bedpan and IV pole race.  Kurt Swanson, owner of Car and Pet Wash and Luis Rodriguez of Northstar GM provided fierce competition but in the end both contestants went home with a turkey compliments of SaveOn Foods and the winner, Mr. Swanson, with an additional snapd gift basket.

The Starlite Campaign is underway and every dollar and every star counts, please consider a donation to support EKFH and equipment for the ICU, visit www.ekfh.ca.

Don’t forget to look in the January snapd issue to see fans from the ICU snapd evening.

If you have your own event coming up don’t forget to call Janice Sommerfeld 250 417-0686 or post on-line at www.snapeastkootenay.com.

The Kootenay ICE (owners, managers, coaches and players) are long-time supporters of the Starlite Campaign so if you are still looking for stocking stuffers why not consider an ICE gift card or flex pass.

The generosity of this community and the region is greatly appreciated.  From all of us at EKFH, snapd East Kootenay and the Kootenay ICE thanks for your support of this event and we wish you a very bright and happy holiday season and healthy New Year.
