Mountain bikers find Paul Kerr
Paul Kerr, who has been missing since Sunday morning, was located off St. Mary’s Lake Road this evening around 7 p.m.
Mountain bikers riding in the area located Paul pinned under his motorcycle in the bush off St Mary’s Lake Road approximately five km west of Kimberley.
His current condition is not known but he has been taken to East Kootenay Regional Hospital, RCMP report.
It’s believed his motorcycle left the road in series of curves and he was not visible from the road and only discovered by the bikers after they chose to travel down a path nearby. They were unaware of the missing person report but called for an ambulance given his condition.
Paul was reported missing late Sunday night (June 14), after he failed to return from a trip over the Gray Creek Pass. Police conducted patrols and inquires during the night without success and contacted Search and Rescue through Emergency Management BC.
A search was initiated early Monday morning. Search teams from Cranbrook, Kimberley, Sparwood, Fernie, Creston and Invermere along with a helicopter and fixed wing aircraft have been searching the area for two days.
“The search teams did an amazing job with some long hours; their dedication to helping others in distress is to be commended. They are all volunteers who give up their free time to assist. We are truly great full for the effort over the past few days,” said Cpl. Chris Newel of the Kimberley RCMP Detachment.
