Nazareth show canceled when singer collapsesPosted: July 10, 2013

Lead singer for Nazareth, Dan McCafferty, collapsed on stage minutes within starting the concert last night, June 9, at the Cranbrook Curling Club. The legendary 1970s/80s arena rock group immediately cancelled the concert.

E-KNOW is hearing that concertgoers are to keep their ticket stubs and go to Bridge Interiors for a full refund. However, details are still emerging about refunds and when they are ironed out we will report them.

On behalf of Cranbrook and East Kootenay music fans, we wish Dan McCafferty a swift and uneventful recovery.

  1. I saw him in Nanaimo on July 5, I told my friend that he looked ill..had trouble breating..was using a puffer and seemed to be struggling for breath. He still rocked us out of our seats, but looked like he was hurting when they left the stage for the final time..I had no idea he was only 66..thought closer to 80 because of how slowly he moved and leaning up against the drummers stage every chance he sad..they were still amazing!! Speedy recovery Dan!

  2. saw Nazareth in Victoria and the minute he walked on the stage we all knew he looked very ill–he was leaning on the drums and looked like he could barely breathe! We were so worried about him! Can’t believe he even made it to Cranbrook—it was obvious to us that the band knew he was unwell…hope he’s okay–he’s the best!
