Brown-bag Lunch with Mayor McCormick

On Wednesday, August 12, and on the second Wednesday of each month, Mayor Don McCormick will host a brown-bag luncheon at City Hall from noon until 1:30 p.m. Bring your own lunch and have a discussion with the mayor.

Mandatory watering restrictions

CityofKim LogoEffective July 14, the City of Kimberley has implemented the following mandatory watering restrictions:

Residents of properties with even-numbered addresses water only on even-numbered calendar days. (August 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18…)

Residents of properties with odd-numbered addresses water only on odd-numbered days. (August 3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17…)

Watering is to be done between the hours of 4 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.

WaterSmart at the Farmers’ Market

Kimberley Farmers' Market Poster 2015The Water Smart Ambassador will be setting up a booth at the Kimberley Farmers’ Market on Thursday, August 13 from 5– 7:30 p.m. on Howard Street. Be sure to come by and book a free appointment for the Ambassador to assess your lawn and sprinkler system, and to receive a free hose timer, moisture meter, and rain sensor.

Kimberley Aquatic Centre

Come on down to the Kimberley Aquatic Centre, we have three more weeks of swim camp! Swimming indoors and fun outdoors with games and crafts. Call the Aquatic Centre at 250-427-2983 for more information.

 

Dog etiquette

Please keep your dog on a leash in public places within city limits, including the Rails-to-Trails. There are a few designated off-leash area within the city; Lois Creek Trails, St. Mary’s River in Marysville, and the Kimberley Nature Park. Please visit our website for further information. Now that it is time to get out and enjoy the sun and walking trails, it would be appreciated if all dog owners would clean up after their dog(s).

Civic CentreIce time

It is hard to believe, but the Parks Department is starting up the ice plant to begin making ice in the Civic Centre on Thursday, August 6!

Pothole reporting

City crews fix potholes on a regular basis, fitting the work in between other duties. You can help by reporting potholes so we can add them to our list.  Be sure to take note of the street address or crossroads nearest the pothole and report it by emailing [email protected] or by calling 250-427-9660.
