Panorama opening with record skiable terrain
Saturday, December 5 marks the start of Panorama Mountain Resort’s 53rd ski season a week earlier than scheduled due to recent snowfalls.
Never before has Panorama opened with this much skiable terrain this early in the season. The special early weekend will see the majority of the mountain open including Taynton Bowl, the Extreme Dream Zone, Founders Ridge and the Sun Bowl.
“This is a first for Panorama; we’ve never opened this much terrain this early. There’s a deep base on the upper slopes and smooth groomed trails connecting the summit with Taynton Bowl, Sun Bowl, Founders Ridge and the village,” said Steve Paccagnan, President and CEO of Panorama Mountain Resort.
“Continued investment in leading-edge snowmaking technology means we’ve been able to take absolute advantage of recent cold weather, and now we’re ready for whatever Mother Nature fires at us throughout the season. In the summer, we also gladed some really impressive lines in Taynton Bowl and I’m sure these will see the very first tracks on Saturday,” Paccagnan noted.
After the weekend the resort will re-open it’s mountain on the previously planned date of December 11.
