Regional leaders honoured with Diamond Jubilee Medals

Karin Penner

Six Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) board directors are getting Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medals, part of the ongoing celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year on the throne.

The recently announced recipients of the medals, with 60,000 being presented across Canada, are, pictured above from left: City of Kimberley Mayor Ron McRae; Village of Canal Flats Mayor Ute Juras; District of Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher; City of Fernie Mayor Mary Giuliano; Village of Radium Hot Springs Mayor Dee Conklin; and RDEK Electoral Area C Director and board chair Rob Gay.

E-KNOW has also recently learned that Cranbrook and District Chamber of Commerce executive director Karin Penner will be receiving a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, as well as Cranbrook resident Carmen Purdy.
