Rob Gay seeks re-election as Area C director
Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Electoral Area C Director Rob Gay has filed his nomination papers to seek a fourth term in office.
“Over the past nine years I feel very fortunate to have worked for the residents of Area C. I feel that my experience and leadership abilities allow me to work effectively towards solutions for challenges faced by residents,” Gay said in a statement to the media.
“My pursuit of solutions to locate problems, like the lack of affordable broadband for many residents in our rural areas, has offered me the opportunity to network with other regional districts and order of government to find sustainable solutions,” said Gay, who has been chair of the regional board the past three years.
“I have a number of important projects underway and a long list of targets that I would like to continue to work on, all of which lead to helping to improve the lives of citizens in Area C,” he said.
