Sand Creek Lions provide $500 for ICU

Jaffray may be a small community but it’s making a big impact on health care specifically the East Kootenay Regional Hospital ICU Redevelopment project.

The 20 member Zone E-6 Lions Club has been in service since 1958 and conduct several annual fundraisers (Community Calendar, auction, etc.) that support a variety of different organizations, youth sports and needs in the community.  East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) was recently on hand to receive a generous $500 from the Sand Creek Lions for the foundation’s current ICU fundraising campaign.

“The Sand Creek Lions are very fortunate to be able to donate to EKFH and the ICU campaign. Our members see the value of this project not just for residents here in Jaffray but for the entire East Kootenay,” explains Lions President Stephen Thacker.

The new ICU at EKRH is to be commissioned in the spring of 2016 and will have six beds versus the present four-bed unit. To make a donation or to learn more please visit www.ekfh.ca.
