Search underway for missing Cranbrook man

Sparwood Search and Rescue and Elk Valley RCMP are trying to locate a 74-year-old male who is believed to have gone to the Flathead River Valley area on a solo hiking trip.

The missing person is Lloyd Robert Hodge, 73 years old of Cranbrook. Hodge was last seen on August 24 in Cranbrook and was expected to travel to the Flathead area on August 27.  Hodge has not been heard from since.  He is an avid bushman and has a SPOT GPS with him. The SPOT was not activated.

Hodge is described as a Caucasian male, short brown hair (possibly greying), brown eyes, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, slender build, may or may not be wearing his glasses.

He was driving a white 2000 Ford Econoline van, with B.C. plate No. 8697 NF (photo attached), and may be carrying a green backpack. If you have seen this vehicle or have any other information, please contact the Elk Valley RCMP at (250)425-6233 (Sparwood office).
