Seek documentation/ certification warn RCMP
Cranbrook RCMP is forwarding a letter to East and Central Kootenay business owners warning them to ensure they seek documentation and certification from would-be inspection service providers.
S/Sgt. Dave Dubnyk Feb. 4 forwarded a letter to East and West Kootenay businesses, as per a request by the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce, warning about crane, hoist and lift inspections.
“Information was received by Cranbrook RCMP that an uncertified business may be offering inspection services without proper documentation and certification,” Dubnyk stated, adding he is asking business owners to be diligent “when vetting potential companies that may be conducting inspections.
“Please ensure they have proper certification/documentation for doing such work. Businesses have been defrauded in the past by uncertified inspectors and hopefully a fan-out of the letter will prevent that,” Dubnyk stated in his letter.
