Starlite Campaign will start with Judy’s Star

For the second year in a row the residents, managers and owners of the Eagles Nest RV Resort in Moyie will take the honour of lighting the first star of East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s annual Starlite Campaign.

The resort hosts several events and activities throughout the year as a way to support the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and its oncology department.

This year the group found themselves with an additional focus as one of their long-time residents lost her battle with cancer.  To honour her, the resort is making a gift of $5,571 and will lovingly light the first star, ‘Judy’s Star,’ in memory of Judy May Blumenauer.

Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director explains, “It is moments such as this one for Eagles Nest RV Resort that truly highlight some of the reasons people choose to donate.  It is such a touching tribute to Judy and we are grateful to honour the resort’s request.”

The 2014 Starlite Campaign will launch in late November and run through to the end of January.  The campaign continues to focus on the benefits of supporting EKFH and its funding priorities for community and regional hospital and health care initiatives.
