Today, May 29, at approximately noon at Frank J Mitchell Elementary School in Sparwood, a combined effort of all Grade 6 classes joined forces to protest the cancellation of their end of the year trip to Blue Lake.

The kids raised a lot of money for the trip and now because of the rotating teacher’s strike, their adventure has been crushed. The parents of the Grade 6 classes are trying to support the teachers and yet figure out a way for the kids to still go.

Today the 26 kids wanted to show their support so they marched out of the classes at noon and stood behind property lines close to the teachers in show of support and to say ‘thumbs down to the decision to cancel the trip.’ One of the signs reads, “We raised the $$$ we deserve to go with our teachers.”
