Suspicious death near Creston
The RCMP’s South East District Major Crime Unit is investigating a suspicious death after a body was discovered in a residence on the Lower Kootenay Band (Yaqan nu?kiy) near Creston.
On May 31, at 3:14 p.m., Creston RCMP received a report of a sudden death on the Lower Kootenay Band. Upon arrival officers located the body of a deceased 26-year-old man in a residence at that location. The death of this male is suspicious in nature and is currently being treated as a homicide.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages and no further information will be released in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.
The identity of the deceased is not being released pending notification of his next of kin.
