District of Invermere Mayor Gerry Taft has been acclaimed following the Oct. 10 general election nomination deadline and will begin a third term in office.

“I am extremely honoured to have the opportunity to continue to work on all of the exciting projects we currently have in progress, and for the new and exciting opportunities that are yet to come. Good luck to the six candidates running for the four council positions,” Taft stated on Facebook.

Seeking re-election are Greg Anderson, Justin Atterbury and Paul Denchuk, while Al Miller is seeking a return to council after a three-year absence and Kayja Becker and Karl Conway have thrown their hats into the ring for the first time.
