Thanks for another great Santa Claus Parade!

JCI Kootenay would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who came out for the 44th Annual Santa Claus Parade in Cranbrook on November 28!

It was a very rainy evening, but that didn’t stop hundreds of residents lining up along Baker Street to catch a glimpse of Jolly Old Saint Nick and his wife, Mrs. Claus.

The weather also didn’t stop 40 festively-adorned floats and cars from proceeding through, while the elves and helpers walking close by handed out candy to the children.

We would also like to thank the generosity of everyone who made a donation to the Cranbrook Food Bank, with over $3,200 raised this year!

However, you may have noticed Santa’s sleigh is in need of some repairs, and maybe even a complete replacement. Ahead of the 45th Santa Claus Parade, JCI Kootenay wants to raise $25,000 dollars to build a new long-term float for Kris Kringle. So far, about $10,000 has been raised, and with the deadline set at December 31, time is running out!

If you would like to donate to this noble ‘Claus’, go to this You Caring website or email [email protected] or drop off donations at the Bedroom Furniture Galleries.

SCP3Every little bit counts, but if you pledge more than $500, your name or business will be put on a snowflake attached to the new sleigh.

Back to this year’s fantastic parade, here are the top 10 floats for the 44th Annual Santa Claus Parade:
