Tim Hortons all smiles with gift to EKRH

It was all smiles at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital last week when Matt Gareau, owner of Tim Hortons outlets in Cranbrook and his management team joined members of the Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary and East Kootenay Foundation for Health to welcome the arrival of some very special equipment for the hospital’s orthopedic department.

The purchase of a cordless drill set for the department is only possible from the generosity of people like you who supported the 2015 Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign. Together the two Tim Hortons outlets, the CHCA and EKFH sold individual, by the half or full dozen and case lots of cookies raising $18,760 to support the equipment purchase.

The cordless drill set is an electrically operated device, which is used by surgeons to drill holes through the bones to fix implants during orthopedic surgeries.

The annual smile cookie campaign has been supporting health care in the region for over a decade making a lasting impact in many areas of care at the regional hospital.

The CHCA, EKFH and Tim Hortons are incredibly grateful for the continued support and thank you for the smile you too have left behind.
