Turkey Drive 2012 shatters record

The Cranbrook and District Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) didn’t just meet its goal of supplying turkeys for over 750 food hampers for the Cranbrook Food Bank and the Salvation Army Dec. 5 – it shattered last year’s impressive mark.

“I would like to extend a special thanks to all the people who took part in this year’s turkey drive. The support was overwhelming this year from all of our volunteers, donors, citizens and business community,” stated drive co-organizer Jason Wheeldon on the Turkey Drive Facebook page.

“Today, each and every person who took part in this event will help make a difference for a family in our community this year. We are all proud of our community, today we should all be even prouder as we joined together to support the worthy efforts of the Cranbrook food bank and the Salvation Army. I am happy to report we shattered last year’s record!” He added that a final tally will be made available later in the week.

“Special thanks to the loving chamber girls who without you would never achieve such great success,” Wheeldon said.
