Watch for 100 Random Acts of Kindness

Local action. Global impact.

The JCI movement started on October 13, 1915 by one active citizen who had a passion for positive change. Since then, millions of other young active citizens have united together to create sustainable impact in their community.

As each year of the JCI movement has passed, we become one step closer to better communities and a better world. Join us in celebrating 100 years of impact. #100YearsOfImpact with JCI Canada and communities across the world as we unite together to celebrate 100 years of impact on May 14.

JCI Kootenay, a local chapter, will be actively carrying out 100 Random Acts of Kindness #JCI100RAK in the Cranbrook area from May 14 – 21, in an effort to celebrate this important anniversary, to create positive change while, also increasing awareness of the organization and local chapter.

International celebrations include Project Impact 100, a campaign to empower young people and their communities to positively impact the lives of 100 individuals by taking grassroots action to create positive change. Communities will also take part in a global screening of the JCI Documentary: 100 Years of Impact, currently being produced.

The JCI 100th Anniversary celebrations will demonstrate how the founding principles of the JCI movement continue to unite young people across the globe today. As JCI remembers its past and embarks on a bright future, the celebrations also aim to empower even more young active citizens to take ownership in the future of their communities, countries and world, thereby sustaining the JCI legacy of impact.

JCI is a worldwide membership-based non-profit organization of young active, citizens from the ages of 18 to 40 who are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities. Through projects in more than 5,000 communities across more than 100 countries, members seek targeted solutions to local problems, creating a global impact.

The local chapter, JCI Kootenay meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce office.
