Young offenders arrested for drug trafficking

On March 5, the Cranbrook/Kimberley Crime Reduction Unit arrested two males, both 15 years of age, for drug trafficking.

Members of the team obtained information that a subject maybe involved in the trafficking of illegal drugs in Kimberley. They conducted an investigation and obtained sufficient grounds to make an arrest. Once on scene, RCMP found two males were present; believing both were involved they were arrested.

A search subsequent to arrest led to the seizure of marijuana, paraphernalia related to drug trafficking and close to $200 cash. One male was released to his parents without charges; the other will be facing drug related charges.

He was released to his parents and has a court date in May.

Both subjects reside in Kimberley and police were particularly concerned because of their age.
