BCCS identifies Golden MVI victim

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Golden on Sept. 28.

He was Ralph Alexander Coombs, aged 62, of Lumby.

Mr. Coombs was the driver and sole occupant of a commercial transport truck that was headed eastbound on Highway 1 shortly after noon on Sept. 28. About 30 kilometres west of Golden, the vehicle went out of control and down a 20-metre embankment. Mr. Coombs was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

Mr. Coombs’s family has been notified of his death.
