A Breast Friends’ Bash clearly a success

Saturday, Oct. 27 saw close to 200 people attending the ‘Clearly… a Breast Friends’ Bash’ at the Black Forest Restaurant in Invermere.

The evening consisted of a delicious three-course dinner prepared and served by Nic, Dragica, Jacque and the wonderful staff at the Black Forest Restaurant; a fashion show featuring styles from Details by Jo Anne, Essentials Dept Store and Tiffany’s Thredz, modeled by Lynn Haskin, Maria Kloos, Heather McLaughlin, Trisha Raven, Denise Reid, Barb Smith, and Donna Strand — all breast cancer survivors.

The dance floor was packed when Marty and Eli Beingessner entertained the crowd following the fashion show.

This event was a celebration for the East Kootenay Foundation for Health reaching the two-year goal of raising $1 million for a stereotactic digital mammography unit for the Cranbrook Regional Hospital, in just one year.

Representatives from businesses and organizations that helped reach that goal were present, including the Invermere Health Care Auxiliary, Windermere Health Care Auxiliary, the Lake Windermere District Lions Club and Kootenay Savings.
