… About the B.C. Budget

1. This is B.C.’s second consecutive balanced budget, ensuring that B.C. will remain an attractive place for investors who create jobs in mining, forestry, oil and gas and tourism. A balanced budget also means your government retains its AAA credit rating and pays about $2 billion LESS of your tax dollars for interest on the provincial debt.

2. Even with the tough times, we managed to find $12 million for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital’s new ICU, $2.4 billion more to invest in healthcare, $146 million for the Early Childhood Tax Credit, $243 million for Community Living BC and $2.3 billion for skills training facilities.

3. We were elected in May of 2013 on a promise to balance the budget and focus on the economy and jobs. This balanced budget, only one of two in all of Canada, is a promise made, promise kept.
