Cranbrook man killed in Highway 31A crash

A 42-year-old Cranbrook motorcycle operator lost his life Sunday following a Highway 31A crash between Kaslo and New Denver.

Central Kootenay Traffic Services RCMP, New Denver RCMP and BC Coroners Service are investigating the incident, which occurred when the westbound motorcycle rider failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound SUV.

The rider was taken to Nelson’s Kootenay Lake Hospital but he died shortly thereafter.

Authorities have yet to release the name of the rider as the BC Coroners completes its report. No other details have been released.
