Duo honoured for contribution

To celebrate International Women’s Day March 8 the Friends of the Cranbrook Women’s Resource Centre honoured Tanya Laing Gahr and Susan Hanson for their volunteer contribution when they presented the Vagina Monologues in February 2013.

This team of director and producer along with the cast and crew were responsible for raising $5,000. Ten per cent of the funding will go to the Vagina Monologues Spotlight Campaign to spotlight and raise awareness of a particular group of women who experience violence. The remaining 90% will help keep the doors of Women’s Resource Centre open for about one month.

The Friends of the CWRC would also like to thank the City of Cranbrook for their generous donation of one Community Day at Key City Theatre so the production could take place without a cost to the production. The donation from the city shows their commitment to the well-being of the residents of this community.
