Father’s Day fishing clinic a success

The Cranbrook Firefighters’ Association would like to thank all the kids and their families for coming out on Father’s Day (June 15) and making the 37th annual fishing clinic at Idlewild Park a huge success.

Special thanks to our sponsors; BC Fresh Water Fishing Society, TransCanada Corporation, BC Hydro, Columbia Basin Trust, The Kootenay Trout Hatchery, Home Depot, Gerick Sports, Stahl Equipment, The Ferners and everyone else who has donated prizes or their time.

The prize for the fishing clinic winner was a full day, two man chartered fly fishing trip on the Bull River.

The tagged fish for this year fishing clinic was caught June 18. The dedicated little fisherman was once again Keenan Harris age 13. Keenan caught the tagged fish in 2013 as well. Congratulations Keenan! Keenan has won a brand new bike and helmet purchased from Gerick Sports. The Cranbrook Firefighters’ Association thanks everyone who participated in 2014 fishing clinic and we hope to see you all again next year.
